There is one thing bike racers simply sux at....writing their names legible on a race form. If your name is spelt wrong below sorry. There were several names we could not read.

What A Great Day For A Race

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped with the race, did the race, heckled at the race, watched the race, partied at the race, and so on. Becasue of you we can have such great events like we had today. There are more races being worked on for the near future. Please stay tuned for the details. Again, thanks for all of your support today. It was a blast!

The Weather Is Looking Awesome For The Race

The weather is going to be amazing for the race. Even if you're not a racer come out and enjoy watching others battle it out. Bring a cowbell, air horn, whistel, megaphone or anything that makes a lot of noise. Cross is a fun event that the whole family can enjoy. Wear your normal spandex, wear a dress, a wig, or come out and try to rip someone legs off. Support a local race and help a park grow. See you on Sunday.

The Guest Beer On Tap At The Race Will Be.......

We will have a guest beer on tap for the race this Sunday. A nice cold keg of Zepptemberfest from French Broad will be on hand for your taste buds. Before or after your race enjoy a nice cold drink. What the heck it's cross....even during the race have a friend hand you a drink as you fly, tumble, cartwheel, crash into a barrier, or flail past them. See you on Sunday!

Forecast For The Race

Looks like a great weekend for racing unless you like lots of mud. Bring your family and friends to help cheer you on and heckle your rival. We expect people to be calling out each other. Let the smack talk begin.

Cross Racing Is Back On

Oct 17th is the new date of the cross race. Start times will be posted in the next few days. Hope to see everyone in the park.

Special Event Announced

It seems the Crew is never content with a normal race:) So once again a curveball has been thrown. During the short track race there will be what I call "don't fall on your face" but really know as a "Balance Skill" obstacle. If you think you have what it takes to incorporate this into your race there's some serious bonuses on the table for the taking. 1 - You can get time bonuses during the race that can help you win. 2 - One lucky person who has "certain things" of steel will get a special trophy made by Gabe.

Special Note....We have a TON of door prizes coming in from local businesses to support this event which helps fund our growing park. Come out and enjoy the park with your family and friends. If you do win a door prizes please tell the sponsors thank you. It's the small business in our community that help events like this become possible. See you on Saturday.

Are You Ready To Race This Weekend?

The work has begun for this weeks SAS 4.0 race. Lots of door prizes are being gathered for the races and volunteers, and Gabe's magical trophies are almost complete. The weather should be amazing (we love Fall around here), and the courses will be in great shape. Be part of something great and help a park grow. If you would like to help out at the event as a volunteer please find one of the race directors on race day and they can put to work. There are prizes for the volunteers...:) The Crew is looking forward to an awesome day of racing.

Sep 26th Cross Race Is OFF. Needs To Be Rescheduled

You know how much we love cross races. So you know this is really hard for us to do. We are very sorry to announce the cross race this weekend on Sep 26th has to be rescheduled. NO RACE THIS SUNDAY SEP 26TH! Check back for the new rescheduled date. We are just as bummed as you are. Crash and burn Mav! We will do everything we can to get another race on this years calender. Please check back often...:)

The last Sunday in September (26th) Bent Creek Park will be hosting another cross race. This will be one week before the S.A.S race. Let's hope we get rain again like we did last year. Stay tuned for the details (categories, times, etc.). Bent Creek Park rules!

The Smack Talk Has Started

Here is the e-mail I got from Gabe this morning. "Man! I'm getting stocked for the race this year.......I turned a 6.5 minute lap on the fixie (29r', 34/20) this morning and am calling out all fixies in the area to come beat that." Ok fixed geared nuts, Gabe has thrown down the smack. I hope someone will be brave enough to accept the challenge.

This weekend a lot of neighbors pitched in and completed a project. Thank you to everyone who has helped put on fundraisers, donated time or money, severing on the park board, etc. This is truly a community that loves it's park and neighborhood.


Make sure you come out and race on Oct 2nd. All the money goes to projects like this. Isn't it nice knowing your money goes towards something you can see and use? Bent Creek Park rules!

New Race Has Been Announced! Oct 02, 2010 SAS 4.0

Come on out and test your fitness on either the hardest 5K in WNC, or a supper fun MTB short track race. All the money collected from these events goes to Bent Creek Park to help this little park grow and continue to put smiles on peoples faces.

Another fun family day in the park. We would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in the races, volunteered, and donated towards our cause....to help a park grow. Without all of you this would not be possible. We made almost $500 from the event!

The Crew is already looking at dates for another mtb, 5K, and a cross race sometime in the Fall. Check back often for more details on these up and coming events. We will also be posting photos as they come in. Check out our flicker page on the bottom right side of the blog for new photos.

Once again the Bent Creek Park will be hosting the SAS 3.0 race next week. The course is in great shape, we have our sponsors on board, and the crew is ready for another fun day in the park. Get Ready For SAS 3.0 on May 22nd

Everyone in Bent Creek is back at it. Time to do our annual Spring race. The date has been set for May 22nd. We will be releasing information as it comes down the pipe. If you have participated in these races before you know how much fun and family friendly they are. If you haven't participated in these events.....why?
